This interactive timeline looks at the career of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the IMF and tracks the recent legal case against him.

Mr Strauss-Kahn resigned after he was arrested on charges of sexual assault. Strauss-Kahn pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were eventually dropped in August 2011.

In February 2012 Mr Strauss-Kahn was taken in for questioning by police investigating an alleged prostitution ring run out of the northern French city of Lille.
