Notes on this graphic

The exact evolution of Facebook’s default privacy settings is a contentious issue. This graphic is based on the FT’s own research into the Facebook terms and conditions, and is intended only as a guide to the changes in data availability. Other references include the historical record of terms and conditions on Facebook by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Another detailed examination has also been made by Matt McKeon on this blog post.
