The Grenoble Graduate School of Business is to open its second teaching facility in the UK, in Manchester. The school will enrol students there for its Masters in International Business programme from September 2010.

The GGSB also teaches programmes in London through its agreement with the London School of Business and Finance, which will also provide the facilities for the Manchester programme, which is intended for those who have recently graduated from undergraduate programmes.

The programme, which will be taught in English by faculty from Grenoble, covers subjects such as international business and international business law as well as the usual management topics such as strategy, marketing, finance and accounting. All participants must complete a period of project based-work, often done in a company.

The move will pitch the GGSB directly against Manchester Business School, which entered the Financial Times Masters in Management rankings for the first time in 2009 and was ranked 44. The GGSB is ranked in the number seven spot in the same ranking.

Dean of GGSB, Judith Bouvard, herself a Mancunian, says that Manchester was an obvious choice. “It (Manchester) is a top choice for students due to the dynamic nature of the city and the excellent student life. The city is internationally well-known for its music scene and club culture and there is plenty of quality accommodation at rates lower than those of London.”
