These are the key characters in the insider trading trial which convicted Rajat Gupta, a former head of McKinsey. The jury found that Gupta had provided corporate secrets to Raj Rajaratnam, the Galleon Group founder who is serving an 11-year sentence over trading on insider information.

Prosecutors played audio from the few phone taps which they obtained although none provided direct evidence of the exchange of secrets. They were used to demonstrate the closeness of the men and a pattern through the use of records of phone calls and share trading by Rajaratnam’s funds soon afterwards. Listen here:

Call between Mr Gupta and Mr Rajaratnam about a potential acquisition by Goldman Sachs.
Call between Mr Rajaratnam and David Lau (former Galleon colleague in Singapore) about the tip from Mr Gupta.
Call between Mr Rajaratnam and Ian Horowitz (former Galleon trader) about the tip following a Goldman board meeting.
