Follow the changes in Markit’s Purchasing Managers’ Indexes, the ISM’s Purchasing Managers’ Index and Non-Manufacturers’ Survey Index since 2007.
These numbers are based on surveys of purchasing executives and offer a way to gauge growth or decline in different areas.
The variables include output, new orders, stock levels, employment and prices across the sector.
A reading above 50 signals an expansion on the previous month and a reading below 50 signals a contraction.
