China’s rural population left behind

The growth of China’s economy has yet to filter through to rural areas like landlocked Guizhou, China’s poorest province.

Kathrin Hille goes to the south-western province to visit resident Jiang Guoli, the first person to attend university in a village where only half the children go to school.
