The National Archives has just released UK government papers from 1982. This was the year that Britain went to war with Argentina over the Falkland Islands, Mark Thatcher went missing in the desert for six days on the Paris to Dakar rally and 30,000 women formed a human chain around Greenham Common to protest against the nuclear weapons sited there.
